Women Farmers

Women Farmers: Women make up approximately 35 percent of the workforce in German agriculture, but they manage only 11 percent of its business operations. In this International Year of the Woman Farmer, the Soil Roundtable is dedicated to women’s experiences, perspectives and their roles on farms. Both individuals involved in farming as well as lay people are invited to participate. Together, we will take a look behind the scenes of local enterprises and also explore beyond Germany’s borders. In recognition of the International Year of the Woman Farmer, we focus on women’s experiences, viewpoints and roles in farming. We welcome practitioners from agriculture as well as interested newcomers who would like to learn more about the operations and international perspectives.
